Utila is one of the Bay Islands of Honduras, in the Caribbean and is known for many dive sites and coral reefs. The Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center is located here due to the frequent visiting of the whale sharks in this area. We visited Utila twice in April, two years in a row, but did not see one whale shark. We did find an abundant amount of marine life and beautiful corals. Since 2006, many of the hard corals have died sadly.
