The Philippines has a great diversity of habitats (soft sediments, corals, seagrass, etc.). It also has more coastlines per unit than any other tropical area on Earth. The Philippines has long been recognized as the world’s center of marine biodiversity. Five of the seven sea turtle species in the world today occur in Philippine waters.
These photos are from a 2-week trip to 2 different resorts in the Philippines. Our first destination was the Sea Explorers at the Pura Vida at Dauin, Philippines, where our guide Gio Bias was a tremendous help in finding all these amazing small creatures. The Resort there is right on the beach. A first-class dive resort for muck diving.
Our second location was on a liveaboard dive boat at the Tubbataha Reef, the Stella Maris Explorer, a first-class dive operation. Padar King and Rambo were the dive guides that showed us some amazing coral reef formations.
