Yoda Cave is located just east of Vik, Iceland, and faces the sea on the south side of Mount Hjorleifshofdi. The cave has two openings. Once inside the cave and looking out, the opening forms the silhouette of Yoda, hence the cave’s name. It was also a shooting location for the film and Jyn Erso’s hiding spot on the planet Lah’mu. While visiting the cave, we were amazed at the contrasting landscape of black sands and plains of vegetation, from lupines to mosses.
The cave’s original name is “Gígjagjá” in Icelandic. It’s also sometimes referred to as the Hjorleifshofdi Cave.
