Skogafoss and Kvernufoss Waterfalls are from branches of the Skógá River in the south of Iceland. The Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country, with a width of 25 metres (82 feet) and drops 60 m (200 ft). We hiked alongside this waterfall to access two more waterfalls above it. It was a good haul up the stairs to the top.
After the hike above Skógafoss Waterfall, we drove to Kvernufoss Waterfall and hiked about 1 km to the waterfall. Kvernufoss is another waterfall on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland. We ventured behind the waterfall and obtained a view down the Kvernugil canyon into which the river falls. It’s a pretty waterfall with another rainbow.
