Reynisdranger Basalt Sea Stacks

Reynisdranger Basalt Sea Stacks stand under Reynisfjall Mountain at the end of a dramatic stretch of black sand beach. The towering, spiky basalt stacks jut from the ocean 65 metres (214 ft) into the air. The sea stacks are a visual trademark for the village of Vík in Mýrdal and are teeming with nesting Arctic terns, fulmars, and puffins. We filmed the sea stacks from the west during sunset and got up for some drone footage of them from the east the following day. It was a glorious experience.  We especially enjoyed chatting with Ragga at our Airbnb farmhouse to catch up on the local happenings. She was so helpful.  The folks of Iceland are so friendly and helpful.
